Yuriy Rakevich

Yuriy Rakevich is a distinguished violinist currently serving as a principal musician of the Osesp Orchestra (Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo). His musical journey began at the remarkable age of six in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), Russia, where he laid the foundations of a career defined by exceptional technical command and broad international experience. By the age of 18, he had already earned his degree from the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, marking an early milestone that would set the tone for a distinguished career on the world stage.

Rakevich has accumulated an impressive portfolio of solo and principal engagements across multiple continents. In Russia, he performed as a soloist with leading orchestras, including a notable performance of Jean Sibelius's Violin Concerto conducted by the acclaimed Vassily Sinaisky. Expanding his reach to Mexico, he performed both Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, demonstrating the breadth and versatility of his solo repertoire. He also served as concertmaster of the Maily Symphony Orchestra and held the position of guest principal violinist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in Australia, underscoring his reputation as a trusted leader in orchestral settings around the world.

A prizewinner at the II International Violin Competition Henryk Szeryng, Rakevich has earned recognition not only through his performance career but also through his achievements in the international competition circuit.
